Healthy habits made simple. 

I’m Meghan Moore, the voice behind Saturday Bagels. Raised in New Jersey and currently living in NYC with my husband, Tom, and our adorable dog, Oscar. After a five year career in retail and event marketing, I am pursuing my Masters in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at New York University. As I embark on the (long) journey to become a Registered Dietitian, I have created Saturday Bagels - a place to share simple tips for building a healthy lifestyle. 

So what are Saturday bagels? Growing up, my dad would bring home bagels for my mom, myself and my three sisters (yes, five ladies) to enjoy every Saturday morning. Continuing the tradition to this day, Tom and I still have bagels together every Saturday.

You might ask how a blog titled Saturday Bagels can be about nutrition and living a balanced lifestyle. Having struggled with an eating disorder in high school, it took almost a decade to gain a healthy balance with food, fitness, and life in general. Saturday bagels with my family used to be daunting. Now, they’re a weekend tradition I love. In the time it took me to make that mindset change, I learned a lot. Largely through sessions with a dietitian but also through life experiences and my graduate education which I will share with you.

Food can be so much more than just food. It is nostalgic, it brings people together, it nourishes the body and soul. Food is meant to be enjoyed, it doesn't have to be a source of fear or anxiety. Rather, it fuels your body so you can enjoy life to the fullest. Through Saturday Bagels I'll help simplify healthy eating so you can focus on the more important things.
